Lil Pump: “My Goal Is to Be the Most Ignorant, Richest Rapper”

Lil Pump has goals, and for the most part, they’re pretty achievable. That is, if they weren’t oxymoronic.

“My goal is to be the most ignorant, richest rapper I could be,” Pump told Dee Lockett for Vulture.

Sure.

In terms of riches, it seems Lil Pump is already there, using his clout and virality to make himself a success. For 2019, the rapper born Gazzy Garcia was named one of Forbes‘ 30 Under 30.

Yet when it comes to wealth—which is very different than riches—and lasting power in the music industry, ignorance won’t get Pump very far. He needs smarts and business sense to turn those riches in long-term wealth—and opportunities outside of music.

While Pump is busy making disposable tunes, it would serve him to wisen up and look around him to ensure his team is investing his money in the right ways. He would also be wise to place a call to fellow artist Nipsey Hussle, who has been adamant in recent months about rappers learning how to diversify their portfolio.

As Pump stated earlier in the interview, he has a family to take care of. Ignorance won’t help him take care of his mother, but it will certainly make for more viral moments, which have been his source of income thus far. So, really, what do we know?
