Dr. Dre Gloats Over His Daughter’s Legitimate USC Acceptance Letter

Dre took the opportunity to set the record straight regarding his daughter’s admission process. In a somewhat trolling caption, he wrote, “My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!” Followers were quick to point out that he and producer, Jimmy Iovine donated $70 million to USC to build the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation back in 2013.

The University of Southern California has been one of many universities embroiled in controversy over the past few weeks. Multiple parents, including celebrities Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, are facing court in relation to a bribery scandal.

It’s important to distinguish that scholarly donations are well within the scope of the law. On the other hand, having third parties doctor admissions test and process bribes (which is what some parents have done) is definitely not.
